I just love designing little pieces of art to poke fun at some of the ridiculous claims made by Romney. Cutting PBS funding, Romney believes this is going to restore America’s financial independence.
are you sure that pbs needs the help from the federal government? fed funding of pbs is less that 15% of it’s revenues and if you look at the actual numbers, maybe it’s time to let the Big Yellow guy stand on his own. He can probably afford it, and it would save the tax payers some millions of dollars. just take the time to check out the numbers. wouldn’t you rather that money go somewhere it could help the working economy?

I don’t pretend to be involved in politics. I just enjoy being creative. Pop culture and “THE MEDIA” are my favorite targets.
With that being said, you make a well articulated point. If what you say is true, I would like to see either elected candidate take appropriate action.
imagine what the money could be otherwise used for.
“In 2010, PBS had revenues of around $570m (http://www.pbs.org/about/media/a…), meaning federal funding via CPB accounted for about 12% of PBS 2010 annual revenues”
the vast majority of the funding is private and viewer supported, inotherwords ‘voluntary’ rather than tax payer support.
although the savings to the Fed Budget may not look like much, i’m sure Big Bird, Burt and Ernie will be just fine and the Obama camp likely knows this, but is taking a ‘cheap shot’ hoping people will just take their side on pure emotion and rhetoric. images and catchy phrases rarely tell the whole truth, but easily lend themselves to misdirection and smokescreens.
thanks for resonding though. i like what i see here
What exactly is your logic here? Romney used PBS as an example of the extraneous cuts the government under his administration would make in order to balance the deficit. Would you suggest he do nothing? I wonder if you realize in how much debt America is. This is just silly rhetoric.
As I’ve stated, I am not a very political person. I’m just making comical artwork. I don’t pretend to understand or care about the deficit. I wonder if you realize that this is just an artist’s blog page and not CNN.
I understand, but this is the rhetoric that facilitates ignorance and gives the illusion of legitimacy to fallacies in politics. There are enough misconceptions going around on the blogosphere; why contribute to the misology? In short, promote truth, no matter on how small of a scale.
That’s quality man! Please keep doing what you’re doing! Being a Scottish guy in the USA means my opinion doesn’t actually matter, but I do have a say in which candidate has the best memes!
Might I suggest, as nomenclature, Canary gigantea or Serinus gigantea for the genus and species of that lovable bird?
Hahaha, that’s pretty cool! Nice blog btw & thanks for following mine.
Thank you. I enjoyed your blog as well!

Simply put, it’s funny is why I do this. I’m not interested in being politically correct or accurate.
It isn’t my goal to offend anyone. If people don’t enjoy my work then their a large blog world to behold.
